This competition-winning design for a new 12-acre campus in Nairobi, Kenya included both master-planning and architecture. The campus comprises a total of 18 buildings (approximately 915,000sf of new construction) with a wide range of typologies: including numerous assembly halls, a mosque, an auditorium library, classroom buildings, administrative buildings and student residences. The vocabulary of the project integrates modern design with aspects of traditional Islamic design as an expression of our client’s cultural heritage. Inaugurated in April of 2017, campus life now in full swing. SCHWARTZ/FX COLLABORATIVE/ROMINES together with a superb team of consultants, oversaw the project’s concept, design and execution.
